Chevy Chase, Sigourney Weaver and Gregory Hines star as a team of ruthless arms dealers who will do anything to sell second-rate weapons to third world countries . . . until they get the chance to close a deal between a giant U.S. defense contractor and a Central American dictator in the deal of the Century.

I was in the Air Force back in the early to mid 80's. I saw a drone take off much like that at Tyndall AFB. It was there one second and gone the next.
Lol . @32:33
Chevy:
"You look just like your Uncle Eddie."
[Him talking to the baby]
If you didn't know where you were (or you just woke up), that was a great flashback to National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (the one where they're at home) and "Uncle Eddie" was the cousin in the trailer (the one that emptied his sewage in the storm drain).
Look, even the brother getting up (looking at him from the back) looks like Dennis Quaid.
[[Or Randy Quaid – I forget ]]
That's a hilarious flashback for a second lol.
😂😂👍🏻👍🏽☕️😎
Billy Friedkin doesn't talk about this film in the many interviews i've seen.
You take one look at Gregory Hines in this picture and it's obvious they wanted Richard Pryor but couldn't get him, or he couldn't do it
R.I.P. 🪦 Gregory Hines
State of the art my ass!
I love this movie 😂
56:08 Best scene in the movie.
We are not building missiles to fight a war but bullilding them to preserve the peace????
loosely based on a true story
When I was a tween and this movie was playing on high rotation on HBO I watched it a couple of times and I thought it was an interesting comedy I rewatched it last night and I realized that this movie is actually kind of deep and prescient to reality it may be a comedy but it has some really deep meaning and actually has a point to make it also has pretty decent cast
Getting shot in the foot was very painful
This movie was so funny. The woman didn't have to put the gun on him. He didn't kill her husband. That woman's husband had killed himself.
Dr Sturgis
Love this movie. Love Susan. Reminds me of my buddy in the Navy, Bernie in the role of Ray.
The true deal of the century, buying out all those elected officials across the world.
Gregory Hines tried to be a christain & civil. That flamethrower scene was so funny.
I made it about 5 minutes and FF'd through for 3 minutes more. What a stinker of a movie. Luckily it is free.
Is that Harold Ramos @ 54:11 ?
Not funny
In reality this is who we traded for a fucking WNBA basketball player.
Snapshot of the 80s. Such a wacky movie that dealt with a really powerful subject. This was when Chase was at his best. Sigourney Weaver looks amazing… Also the peacemaker pulled that "pump the brakes" move 3 years before Tom cruise did in top gun
Bidum and the Ukraine!
Casey Swaim from project ufo.
basically screwball lord of war i miss this one
When saw this movie on HBO Family back in 2007, I was surprised that William Friedkin directed a comedy. But hey, I enjoyed it.
All them chickens lmao.
This movie is inconceivable.
This story is both, funny and sad but true. This movie had a great Cast.
Am I the only one who thinks tha the head of Lockup has a very Burt Lancaster presentation in his voice?
42:31 The fun begins 😆
Just a little touch up!
57:00 road rage
HBO in the 80s was the classic maker. Terminator, John Hughes’ films, Fletch and Deal of the Century, Porky’s, and so many more.
Hilarious & tragic at the same time I didn't know whether to laugh or cry if this movie wasn't so true to life in our present global crisis!
"A little touch up"
Maybe this movie started out as a comedy, and maybe at the time it was even funny. But now it's more of a documentary, played by actors who thought they were funny. Was this early Hollywood commie propaganda against Reagan and Star Wars?
These guys new how to do comedy!
Arms For Peace
Wow, this one takes me back. Thanks YouTube for the nostalgia 😄👌👍
Now I want some charged particles.
Been YEARS since I saw this!!!
18:35 all fun until the freedom fighter gets pulped
Drones were used by the US in the 60's and 70's in Viet Nam. The Ryan 147 was used widely.
JHC, there are some stupid replies to this post, made by lazy people that didn't bother to check out the facts.
btw, drones were first used in warfare in 1849, and widely used in WW2, Korea. and Viet Nam by many nations.
Keep your day job, if you have one.
